Uniform

When we’re out on excursions and inter-school carnivals, you’ll see Tambelin students looking immaculate in our full school uniform. When we’re outside the school grounds, the Tambelin uniform is compulsory and we place an emphasis on our students being neat, tide and well-groomed.

During normal days at school, the uniform is not compulsory, and students are free to wear what they like. Of course, we do have guidelines around safety, sun safety and clothing that others may find offensive.

We generally discourage children from wearing jewellery at school; earrings must be studs or small sleepers. Likewise, dress up costumes are suitable for whole-of-school dress up days, otherwise we prefer that your child does not come in character to school.

New students receive a broad-brimmed Tambelin hat on enrolment and all students must where this every day.

We expect all students to meet dress requirements. School uniform is optional for most days of school. Full school uniform is requested by the school from time to time. Students wear full school uniform when on excursions, photos and a visit from a guest speaker to the school. We use School Stream to notify parents and students when uniform is required.

From the time of enrolment, parents are asked to take responsibility for outfitting their children according to the requirements (Tambelin Uniform School Policy). The dress requirements for our school, as determined by our School Committee, are a navy school embroidered broad brimmed hat is required by all students to be worn all year round when outside. Uniforms are sold from the school office. It is a good idea to buy uniform items before school starts, so that new students feel part of the school from their first day. Cost of new school uniform items is kept to a minimum. We strongly recommend that all items are clearly marked with the child’s name.
