History

Tambelin has long been part of the local Goulburn community. The now NSW Police Academy was once home to the NSW Government’s Teachers College and in 1979 some lecturers in the college established Tambelin Independent Primary School. Joined by local families and friends, the lecturers created Tambelin with one vision in mind: to have a small country school in the heart of Goulburn CBD that offered students highly tailored and individualised learning.

More than 40 years on, this ethos continues today a through a team of passionate and experienced teachers.

The school has been at its Fenwick Crescent location since 1979. Since then, self-funding and successful grant applications have allowed for many improvements and additions to the school’s resources.
