Catering for students in kindergarten through to year 6, we have a cap on our intake of no more than 32 student enrolments at any one time.
The philosophy of the school is for children to be happy in their learning environment. To foster this, the school regards each child as an individual and employs a low student to staff ratio. The school is divided into two groups – Junior and Senior classes. The Junior Class caters for children from Kindergarten to Year Two and the Senior Class caters for Year Three to Year Six students.
Tambelin follows the NSW Syllabus for all curriculum areas and also incorporates specific instructional programs and extension activities for children to access.
The small class numbers allow our teachers to focus on the individual needs of students and identify support and extension using a tiered model. We employ a teachers’ assistant four days a week for intervention specifically for literacy.
Students have access to the Reading Tutor program of Multilit, Multi Extension, Macqlit and MiniLit. Children are encouraged to develop at their own pace and realise their full potential.
Tambelin is a member school to the Association of Independent Schools AISNSW. This membership is invaluable for all aspects of Independent Schooling in NSW.
